Youth Learning Centre
As the programs from
GO continue to grow, we continue to struggle with the very real
problem of physical space. In 2008, God blessed Guyanese Outreach
with a very gracious lease from the Government for a ten year rate
for of just $US 5.00
PLUS an option to renew!
The building had not
been used for 4 years and needed a lot of renovation. It is
approximately 60 ft x 24 ft. and was basically one large room that
we divided into two. All 12 foundational posts were rotted. It had
concrete walls, but with open spaces, which brought in a lot of
dust. There were no windows and all of the doors had to be replaced.
God has blessed us with a small grant from the European Union to
accomplish much of this basic work, but there is much more to be
accomplished than our present budget will allow for.

Our
newest building, formerly the home of the Lions Club, now
leased from the Guyanese government to GO |

Renovations began in the
building that had been empty for four years |

As
renovations are near completion, you can see the
new life the building holds |

With the
classroom space inside already very crowded, we needed to
start construction on the outside open area know as the Tent /
Portico |
Guyanese Outreach is
in need of your donations to allow us to continue with the
renovation of this very important building in several smaller phases
as we see God continue to bless our finances.
Our first phase was to build the connecting tent / portico in the open area
next to the building. This addition was absolutely necessary to
accommodate an expanded classroom.

Construction begins in the open area next to the new building,
affectionately known as the tent / portico |

Zinc panels are laid in place
as a temporary roof and protection from the rains |

The first
phase of our addition is complete, but as you can see below much
more is needed to complete the facility the Lord has blessed us
with |

facility! |
Current Fundraising
To complete this phase, your financial help is needed as we plan to cover the sides and ends of
the tent / portico with wooden lattice. This lattice will
keep the rain and sun out of the class room space, which is an open
area. The space will continue to be used as an open area classroom
and general meeting room for various community activities. The
estimated financial need for this portion of the project is $US
3,000.00
Once this is complete our prayers turn to the completion of an
even larger project.
Phase Two is
to construct a solid foundation and concrete pillars that will allow us
to build a second floor as a permanent home for the library. To
complete this phase, an estimated $US 55,000 needs to be
raised.
We know that God has
called us to this community. GO's Youth Learning Centre is the first
building of its type in this village, offering this variety of
programs.
It is exciting to see the children and parents of different religious
backgrounds come for the many programs. GO’s
presence and help to the community is very much appreciated here. My
heart is touched and if you were here, yours would be also.
What an opportunity
that God has called us to co-labor, till the soil; plant seeds; and
water for growth to bear fruits for His Kingdom. The harvest is
plentiful, but the laborers are few. GO needs your help.
Please consider helping GO with a generous
donation today!
